China Commodity City is located in Yiwu--- a city in central Zhejiang Province. It is 300 kilometers away from shanghai and one-hour trip to Hangzhou International Airport, and it is also adjacent to the oriental super port----Ningbo Port.
In 2005, it was appraised by the UN, the Word Bank and the Morgan Stanley among other world authorities as the ¡°largest commodity wholesale market in the world¡±.
The business area of China Commodity City now is over 4.3 million square meters, with three markets clusters of International Trade Mart, Huangyuan Market and BingWang Market. These boast 62,000 booths, 200,000 suppliers that mainly sell daily necessities, 214,000 daily passengers and over 1.7 million kinds of commodities are commercialized here which are exported to 218 countries and regions, among which 65 percent of them are foreign-oriented.
China Commodity City now is the national largest commodities export base. Also it is the merchandise wholesale market with the highest degree of internationalization, modernization and normalization. As one of commodities centers in the world, China Commodity City enjoys high international popularity and reputation.
China Commodity City provides an important platform for exporting¡±made in China¡± commodities and importing commodities form various countries. Over 2600 office of foreign enterprises has been registered in Yiwu, which has more than 10,000 permanent foreign business from over 100 countries. Many procurement agencies like The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Carrefour¡¯s Asia Headquarter all have set up procurement centers in Yiwu¡¯s Market. In 2009, there are a total of 520,000 containers departing from and landing at Yiwu.
International Trade City¡¯s planned area is 32.4 square kilometers, the business area of the International Trade City phase¢ñ¡¢¢ò¡¢¢ó and ¢ômarket totally occupied 3 million square kilometers, with more than 40 thousand stalls. It sets up 16 trades with 4202 categories for over 1.7 million types of products such as the toys, flowers, ornaments, jewelry, hardware, arts & crafts, electronics, electric appliances, ran gear, cosmetics, bags, watches & glasses and sports articles. Here lays a good assortment of goods which is filling at the price.2009, a total of more than 600 million visitors, of which more than 30 million foreign tourists.
